CHAMP Wins Evian Masters and Nordea Masters

CHAMP Spikes finished strong this weekend with many of its products being widely chosen by professionals at the top of the leader boards at all of the major professional tour events.

The 2011 Evian Masters Presented by Société Générale in Evian-les-Baines, France saw a young LPGA winner enter the final round wearing the #1 Brand on Tour with a two-shot lead over her nearest opponents. She secured her second Evian Masters title making her the fourth player to win multiple titles at the event in the 18-year history of the tournament. Though this was her first victory of the 2011 season this long time CHAMP spike supporter helped give the popular CHAMP ScorpionSTINGER™ their third LPGA victory of the season adding another victory to their growing list of achievements.

Over in Europe at the Nordea Masters in Stockholm, Sweden CHAMP was extremely well represented as another young CHAMP wearer secured a Sunday victory. Along with this native winner was 70% of the entire field and seven of the top ten finishers who chose CHAMP as their spike of choice.

The PGA Tour played the RBC Canadian Open in Vancouver, British Columbia where the CHAMP family of products, the ScorpionSTINGER™, PRO-STINGER™ and ZARMA collection of spikes and FLYtee’s could be seen at many of the top spots on the leader board.

“It is always wonderful to see a successful Sunday finish with our family of products being at the top of many of the professional tour leader boards,” states Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of CHAMP / MacNeill Engineering. “It is satisfying to know that globally our products are making an impact on players of the professional tours by helping them achieve their dreams of winning. Each day we strive as a company to create the best and most trusted products so that athletes will continue to turn to us for their traction needs.”

Zarma FLYtee™ Enjoys Success at 2011 Open Championship

As CHAMP spikes continue to dominate in traction technology on the professional tours, there is a highly sought after collection from CHAMP that is receiving increased attention. With the success of the Zarma spikes, which continue to take market share and gain attention from the players on the professional golf tours, players were looking for the next greatest product from CHAMP. Since its launch at the PGA Merchandise Show the new Zarma FLYtee™ is the second product to be launched as part of the Zarma Collection. This high performance tee will provide increased distance from tee to green while outlasting any wood tee on the market today. It’s biodegradable make up and durable plastic design is preferred on all major golf tours. The Zarma FLYtee™ was widely used by the field at the 2011 Open Championship and has been gaining significant momentum at retail globally ever since its release a few months ago.

The FLYtee™ is eco-friendly, made with environmentally friendly biodegradable materials; a durable plastic design and a 6 prong head which makes it easier to place the ball on the tee and keep it stable. With its added durability and contoured cup, this tee gives top performance to all golfers, from amateurs to professionals. Available in 1 3/4″ (44mm), 2 3/4″ (69mm) & 3 1/4″ (83mm) sizes and an array of colors, the new Zarma FLYtee™ is a must for any golfer.

“CHAMP certainly is enjoying the success of the Zarma Collection starting with the Zarma spikes and now the Zarma FLYtee™. Producing a 1 ¾” tee gives players the opportunity to choose a wider variety of options to play off of the tee box. The success at the Open Championship is obviously great exposure and having players gravitate to the FLYtee endorses the quality of the product,” states Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of CHAMP / MacNeill Engineering. “The direction is to provide golfers a sound product that fulfills their needs. We give golfers the freedom to think more about their game than to worry about their equipment. CHAMP will continue to give the players products they can trust.”

CHAMP Dominates In Open Championship Field

At the close of the 140th Open Championship held at Royal St. George’s, CHAMP spikes continue to be the choice in traction technology of the majority of the field in the major championships. With all of the added excitement this tournament consistently brings, more than half of the total field and five of the top ten finishers wore CHAMP spikes.

In other tour news, at the Viking Classic, there were similar results in spike statistics with 50% of the top ten finishers playing in CHAMP Spikes. CHAMP continues to see new players gravitating towards CHAMP spikes, in particular the CHAMP Zarma® Spikes. With two top ten finishes this week, Zarma sales continue to grow as does number of players on tour changing to play in the newest comfort cleat on the market.

“As always golf fans expectations of The Open Championship were exceeded this weekend. CHAMP congratulates all of the players and is thrilled to have such a strong presence at both PGA Tour events played” states Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of CHAMP / MacNeill Engineering. “CHAMP Zarma continue to increase in numbers on tour as it has in sales at retail shops globally. The introduction of the Zarma Spikes and Zarma FLYtee™ has been instrumental in our growth plans for 2011 and, thus far, the results have surpassed our predictions.”

CHAMP Wins at John Deere Classic and Scottish Open

The Monday morning golf reports continue to bring great news regarding CHAMP Spikes. This week CHAMP enjoys victories on the PGA and European PGA Tours.

The Scottish Open played at Castle Stuart Golf Links reports that along with the winner 69% of the entire field competed in CHAMP Spikes. Of these high numbers, eight of the top ten finishers on the leader board also wore CHAMP spikes. This marks the 23rd win that CHAMP has taken the top position. In each event played in 2011 on the European PGA Tour CHAMP has enjoyed having over 60% player participation of every field and in some cases nearly the entire field as the percentages have been on the rise.

At the John Deere Classic it was an 18th hole putt that gave the final champion the lead wearing CHAMP spikes. As always there was a strong field representation for CHAMP and this is the 19th event won on the PGA Tour by a player competing in the CHAMP brand.

“CHAMP congratulates both of these champions on their strong play. We continue to be pleased with what we are seeing as far as our representation on the professional tours,” states Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of CHAMP / MacNeill Engineering. “CHAMP’s following continues to grow on tour as well as in retail. One of the most significant changes for CHAMP this year is that the CHAMP Zarma has become increasingly popular on tour as each week our numbers grow. We are looking forward to the British Open and predict that, as always, this Open Championship will be a strong global participation for those wearing CHAMP spikes.”
