#WinnersWearCleats Throughout 2018-19 PGA Tour Schedule, Major Championships

BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 3, 2019 – The 2018-2019 PGA Tour schedule concluded last week with the Fedex Cup winner becoming the latest in a long line of winners wearing cleats. Throughout the season, a total of 43 Tour, major championship or World Golf Championship events featured winners wearing replaceable cleat technology from PrideSports® brands Softspikes® and CHAMP®. Included in those 43 wins were all four major winners, the winner of the FedEx Cup and the winner of the Players Championship.
“The results in professional golf throughout the 2018-19 season should settle any debate on the importance of replaceable cleats,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “Forty-three wins across the most competitive events in golf proves that the stability, traction and control delivered by cleated footwear make a tremendous difference in overall performance.”
While the PGA Tour begins its short offseason this week, the other professional tours continue with more winners choosing replaceable cleats. On the LPGA Tour, the winner of the Cambia Portland Classic wore Nike Air Zoom Victory footwear with Softspikes® Pulsar cleats. On the Champions Tour, the Shaw Charity Classic winner chose FootJoy® Fury shoes with Pulsar® cleats.
On the European Tour, the winner of the Omega European Masters wore Nike Vapor React 2 footwear with replaceable cleats. At the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, the event winner also claimed his 2019-2020 PGA Tour card in replaceable cleats.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. The company recommends golfers change their cleats every six to eight months – or even more frequently based on use – to ensure golfers get the maximum performance out of their footwear.
CHAMP’s Helix®, Zarma Tour® and Stinger® cleats, as well as Softspikes’ Pivix®, Pulsar®, Silver Tornado® and Stealth® cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales. More information can be found at www.champspikes.com and www.softspikes.com.
